Who We Are
Cavie ("Cavie," "we," "us," or "our") operates the online store and website at cavieplans.com, including all related information, content, features, tools, products, and services (the "Services"). Cavie is an aesthetic lifestyle planning brand based in Canada, selling physical products to customers in Canada and the United States.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase through the Services, or when you otherwise communicate with us. If there is any conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.
By using or accessing any of the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described here.
Information We Collect
"Personal information" refers to information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It does not include anonymized or de-identified data that cannot be linked back to you.
Depending on how you interact with our Services, we may collect or process the following categories of personal information:
Contact Details
Your name, billing address, shipping address, phone number, and email address — collected when you place an order, create an account, or contact us.
Financial Information
Payment card details, transaction information, and payment confirmation. All payment processing is handled by Shopify Payments and its payment partners. Cavie does not store your full card number or CVV on our systems.
Account Information
If you create a customer account: your username, password, security questions, and account preferences.
Transaction Information
Items you view, add to your cart or wishlist, purchase, return, or cancel, and your order history with us.
Communications
Any information you include when you contact us — for example, a customer support inquiry, a product question, or feedback submitted through our contact form.
Device and Usage Information
Information about your device, browser, and network connection, including your IP address and unique device identifiers. We also collect information about how you interact with our Services — pages visited, time on site, referral source, and navigation behaviour — through Google Analytics and Shopify's built-in analytics.
Marketing and Advertising Data
We use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and the Pinterest Tag on our website. These tools collect information about your visit — including pages viewed and actions taken — to measure ad performance and, where applicable, to serve you relevant advertising on those platforms. This data is subject to Meta's and Pinterest's respective privacy policies.
Sources of Information
We collect personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you — when you place an order, create an account, sign up for our newsletter, fill out a form, or contact us.
- Automatically through the Services — from your device when you visit our website, via cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies.
- From our service providers — including Shopify, Klaviyo, Google, Meta, and Pinterest, when they process data on our behalf or share data about your interactions with their platforms.
- From third-party partners — including ad platforms and analytics providers that share aggregated or behavioural data with us to help us understand our audience.
How We Use Your Information
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
To Fulfil Your Order
Processing payments, confirming purchases, arranging shipping and delivery, managing returns or exchanges, and sending order-related notifications. This is the primary reason we collect your contact and financial details.
To Maintain Your Account
Creating and managing your customer account, remembering your preferences, and enabling features like saved wishlists.
To Communicate with You
Responding to your inquiries, providing customer support, and sending transactional emails related to your orders. These communications are non-optional if you've made a purchase — we need to be able to reach you about your order.
For Marketing and Advertising
If you've opted in, we'll send you marketing emails through Klaviyo about new products, launches, promotions, and other updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email. We also use the Meta Pixel and Pinterest Tag to measure ad performance and to serve relevant ads to you on those platforms. This may include retargeting based on your activity on our site.
To Improve the Services
Using analytics data (via Google Analytics and Shopify) to understand how our site is used, improve navigation and content, identify popular products, and inform our design and merchandising decisions.
For Security and Fraud Prevention
Authenticating accounts, detecting and investigating suspicious or fraudulent activity, protecting the security of transactions, and ensuring the integrity of our Services.
For Legal and Compliance Purposes
Complying with applicable laws, responding to lawful requests from regulatory or law enforcement authorities, enforcing our Terms of Service, and resolving disputes.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
With Service Providers
We share data with vendors and third parties who perform services on our behalf, including:
- Shopify — our ecommerce platform, which hosts our store, processes orders and payments, and provides analytics.
- Klaviyo — our email marketing platform, which sends marketing and transactional emails on our behalf.
- Google (Google Analytics) — for website analytics and performance measurement.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — for advertising performance tracking via the Meta Pixel.
- Pinterest — for advertising performance tracking via the Pinterest Tag.
- Shipping carriers — including Canada Post and USPS (and other couriers as applicable), who receive your name and shipping address in order to deliver your order.
With Business and Marketing Partners
We work with advertising platforms (Meta, Pinterest) that may use your data to deliver personalized advertising based on your activity on our site and on other websites. Each partner operates under its own privacy policy. Where required by law, you may have the right to opt out of this use of your data.
When You Direct Us To
For example, when you use a social media login integration or share information with us voluntarily through a third-party tool or widget.
For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process (such as a court order, subpoena, or search warrant), or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cavie, our customers, or the public.
In a Business Transaction
If Cavie is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our website if such a transfer occurs and your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Our Relationship with Shopify
Our Services are hosted by Shopify Inc. When you visit or make a purchase through our store, Shopify collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services in order to provide and improve those Services for you.
Information you submit through our store is transmitted to and processed by Shopify and may be stored on servers located in countries other than where you reside, including the United States.
In certain cases, Shopify acts as an independent controller of your personal information — including for Shopify-enhanced features that draw on data from your interactions with our store and other Shopify merchants. In those circumstances, Shopify is responsible for responding to your requests to exercise your rights over that data.
To learn more about how Shopify handles your personal information and to exercise any applicable rights, visit the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy or the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — as well as similar technologies like pixels and web beacons. We use these to:
- Keep your shopping cart intact across sessions
- Remember your preferences and settings
- Understand how visitors navigate our site (Google Analytics)
- Measure the performance of our advertising (Meta Pixel, Pinterest Tag)
- Enable Shopify's core ecommerce functionality
By using our site, you consent to the use of cookies. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may affect certain features of the site. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out signal. If your browser sends a GPC signal when you visit our site, we will treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser and device, to the extent required by applicable law. If we can associate the device to a customer account, we will apply the opt-out to that account as well. We do not recognize other "Do Not Track" browser signals.
International Transfers
Cavie operates from Canada. Our store is hosted by Shopify, whose infrastructure includes servers located in the United States. When you place an order or interact with our Services, your personal information may be transferred to and stored in the United States or other countries outside of Canada.
By using our Services, you consent to your personal information being processed in these jurisdictions. We ensure that any such transfers are carried out in compliance with applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and that our service providers maintain appropriate safeguards for your data.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide you with our Services, maintain your account, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
When we no longer need your personal information for these purposes, we will securely delete or anonymize it. If you request deletion of your account or data, we will process your request in accordance with applicable law, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain records.
Security of Your Information
We take reasonable technical and organizational precautions to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. All payment transactions are processed through Shopify's secure, PCI-DSS-compliant payment infrastructure.
That said, no method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. We recommend that you do not transmit sensitive information to us through unsecured channels, and that you keep your account credentials private. Cavie will never ask for your password by email.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. These rights are not absolute and may be subject to conditions or exceptions under applicable law.
Right to Access
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you.
Right to Correction
You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
Right to Deletion
You may request that we delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to any legal obligations requiring us to retain it.
Right to Portability
You may request a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used format, and ask that we transfer it to another party where technically feasible.
Right to Withdraw Consent
Where we process your personal information based on your consent (for example, marketing emails), you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Right to Opt Out of Targeted Advertising
You may have the right to opt out of the use of your personal information for targeted advertising. You can exercise this right through your browser's privacy settings, the Global Privacy Control, or by contacting us directly. You may also manage your ad preferences directly through Meta's and Pinterest's ad settings.
Managing Marketing Emails
You can unsubscribe from Cavie marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send. If you opt out of marketing, we may still send you transactional emails related to your orders (these are not optional while you have an active order with us).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the details below. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. We will respond to all requests in a timely manner as required under applicable law.

California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected about you and how we've used and shared it.
- Right to Delete — request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to Correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing — we do not sell your personal information. We do share certain data with advertising partners (Meta, Pinterest) for cross-context behavioural advertising, which may qualify as "sharing" under California law. You may opt out of this via the Global Privacy Control or by contacting us.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information — to the extent we collect sensitive personal information, you may have the right to limit our use of it.
- Right to Non-Discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To submit a CCPA request, contact us at the details below. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. You may also designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf, provided that agent can demonstrate your authorization.
As of the date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under the age of majority in their jurisdiction (13 in the United States; 16 in some provinces under Canadian privacy law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or platforms that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit. Our inclusion of a link does not constitute an endorsement of that site or its privacy practices.
Information you share on public or semi-public venues — including on social media platforms — may be viewable by others without limitation. We are not responsible for how third parties use information you choose to make publicly available.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, provide additional notice (for example, by email or a prominent notice on our site).
Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
